Choosing a T-Shirt
/
Choosing a T-shirt can sometimes feel overwhelming. I've been printing shirts for almost six years now and I still have trouble remembering all of the different thread blends and styles. However I have learned quite a few things that might make the decision process a little easier. When it comes down to materials there are four main categories.
- Cotton
- 50/50
- Polyester
- Triblend
Throughout this post I’ll provide my suggestion for different styles of t-shirts. Simply click on the name of the shirt to get an example of that particular shirt style.
Cotton
Cotton shirts are what most people are used to and the most common thing we print on. Cotton shirts are usually the safest bet when it comes to just wanting a basic t-shirt. They can be great for representing your school or even this years family reunion. The most popular 100% cotton shirt we do is the Comfort Colors shirt. Comfort Colors are super soft and come in a variety of unique colors. The down side to them is that they are way more expensive and hard to get sometimes because of how popular they have become.

50/50
50/50 means that the shirt is composed of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. This percentage can vary sometimes but to keep it simple we'll just stick with 50/50. 50/50 are the style of shirts I usually suggest for any type of labor workers. This is because the shirts are often not as soft as others but they are durable and can be worn more often. This is of course important for business that requires employees to wear their shirts out on the job.

Polyester
Polyester shirts are another popular material we use and is sometimes referred to as moisture wicking. These shirts are popular among sports teams and finest buffs. Polyester shirts are probably the hardest ones to find good quality material because if they are not blended properly you can end up with an uncomfortable shirt. The shirts I suggested below are two that I've had the best luck with and are safe bets in terms of quality and price.

Triblend
Last but definitely not least we have triblends. Triblends are by far the softest of all of them. This is because they are usually blended with cotton, polyester, and rayon. This blend of different materials creates a very soft and reliable shirt. If someone is wanting to sell shirts and wants a premium product this is usually the style I suggest. The shirts are super comfortable and for the most part wont shrink in the washer. One downfall they have is that they can be clingy if there’s too much static in the air.
